Red, Purple line trains halted between Howard and Belmont due to ‘medical emergency’ on tracks

CHICAGO (CBS) — The CTA Red and Purple lines have been shut down north of the Belmont stop.

The Chicago Transit Authority said the reason was a medical emergency on the tracks, but did not specify further.

Trains are not running at all between Howard and Belmont. Shuttle buses have been requested.
