Baby found dead in Melbourne home, woman fighting for life

Emergency services were called to a home on Langdon Drive, Mernda, around 9pm after receiving reports an infant had been critically injured.

A baby was found dead inside the house and a woman with life-threatening injuries, Victoria Police said.

She was airlifted from the scene and is now fighting for her life in hospital.

An investigation is underway but police say they’re not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
