CCTV footage has revealed the chilling moments leading up to an alleged hit-and-run that left a teenager in hospital fighting for his life.
Police were called to Shearn Crescent in Doubleview, in Perth, shortly before midnight on Friday after reports of an altercation between a group of people.
Shortly after, police alleged a dark coloured vehicle struck a pedestrian and crashed into two other vehicles before fleeing the scene.
The pedestrian, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
In the footage, a black sedan careens through a suburban Perth street, followed by loud sounds of screeching and crashing.
According to 9 News Perth, the young man had been sent flying metres down the road after he was hit.
Police located the abandoned car a short time later, and after 3am three people presented at the Mirrabooka Police Station.
One of those people, a 20-year-old male, has been charged with unlawful act or omission with intent to harm, failing to stop and ensure assistance received after incident occasioning grievous bodily harm, failing to report an incident in which property was damaged, and two counts of unlawful damage.
WA Police say the man will appear in court at a later date.
