Eiza González has shot down rumors that she has been cast as Elektra for the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again.

Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home before suiting up as Daredevil in the latest episode of the Disney Plus series She-Hulk. While Daredevil’s next appeanrace in rumored to be in the upcoming Echo series, Marvel is also working on a new series focusing on the Man Without Fear.

Recent rumors have suggested that Eiza González has been cast in the upcoming Daredevil series, which is expected to begin filming next year. Last night, Gonzalez took to Twitter to comment on the rumors, denying that she has been cast as Elektra in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Elektra was last seen in the second season of Daredevil and the Defenders miniseries on Netflix. That version of the character was played by French actress Elodie Yung. There’s currently no word on Yung’s future as Elektra now that Daredevil is part of the MCU.

During an appearance at a Fandom Spotlite Wizard World panel back in 2020, Elodie Yung expressed her interest in returning to the role of Elektra. “Let me tell you, I love this character because she’s so complex and broken. She’s got a lot of villain in her, and that I can relate to, and also a lot of good. It’s such an amazing character. I would love for Marvel to bring her back,” Yung said at the time.
