RHONJ’s Melissa Gorga Addresses Altercation & Feud With “Toxic” Jennifer Aydin, Explains Her Side of Viral BravoCon Fight

Melissa Gorga is revealing her side of the story behind the altercation that took place between her, her husband Joe Gorga, and their Real Housewives of New Jersey co-star Jennifer Aydin during BravoCon.

In a now-viral video, Jennifer and the Gorgas became entangled in a verbal spat in the lobby of the Gansevoort Hotel that turned physical when Jennifer hurled a drink at Joe after he called her a “dirty b**ch.”

During an October 20 episode of her podcast, Melissa Gorga On Display, Melissa said that she “rarely” felt the need to comment on such trivial arguments, but she wanted to address the situation and provide some context behind the situation.

“Rarely do I feel the need to address these types of things, and I refuse to give it too much time or energy,” Melissa explained. “The truth is, BravoCon is a celebratory event. It’s not really supposed to be about the drama of the Housewives. It’s not supposed to be about who doesn’t like who and who’s not getting along with who. It’s really about the fans.”

Melissa explained that the tension between her and Jennifer began during one of the panels at BravoCon. The “On Display” singer said that she began to hear rumblings that Jennifer was speaking negatively about her and alleged that she and Joe are hanging onto their RHONJ roles “for dear life.”

“Things are really just not in your lane,” Melissa said. “You gotta stay in your lane. Second of all, I’m not sure what show you’re watching if I’m ‘hanging on by a thread.’ … It’s just, like, a very toxic road to go down to create tension that’s unnecessary at a celebratory event.”

Melissa claims that she and Joe were minding their own business and chatting with stars from Bravo’s Family Karma, and then Melissa says Jennifer and her assistant sauntered into the hotel and shot her glaring looks, prompting Melissa to respond.

“She walks in with her assistant and just goes to walk by me and gives me this snarky stare in my eyes as she’s walking past me,” Melissa recalled. “I just look at her and I go — in my tone, in my Melissa Gorga tone, no yelling or screaming — I go, ‘Keep moving, wannabe. Come on, loser, just keep walking. There’s the elevator.’ Literally all I said.”

Melissa’s comment hit a nerve with an alleged “not sober” Jen, who began “screaming and yelling” at the couple.

“Now she freaks out, now she tries to throw a drink on the guy I work with,” Melissa claimed. “She threw it all over the lobby. It got all over the security guard. … By the way, she should probably take care of his dry-cleaning bill.”

Melissa also explained Joe’s role in the altercation, saying, “I don’t think we give Joe enough credit, and he’s 100 percent wrong sometimes — but he literally said, ‘I don’t even know how this dirty b***h is on the show.’ He did say that out loud, but he said it to the other people we were talking to. Is he right? No, but he said that.”

As we previously reported, Andy Cohen and Bravo executives were not happy with Jennifer or the Gorgas after the clip of the incident went viral. Andy called the argument “gross,” and Bravo sat down with both parties and made it clear the network “does not condone their behavior,” according to an Us Weekly insider.
