Jada Pinkett Smith to detail ‘complicated marriage’ to Will in new memoir
Jada Pinkett Smith is set to release a “no holds barred” memoir where she will open up about her “complicated marriage” with Will Smith and her relationship with Tupac Shakur.
The announcement comes from Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishg, who have pinned the untitled book as a chronicling of “lessons learned”.
“[It’s] a rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power,” the statement reads, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The now 51-year-old will reportedly recount her “unconventional upbringing in Baltimore” as well as the “crisis” she hit at age 40.
“In crisis at age 40, Jada recounts the excruciating choices she was forced to make to redefine her life in every way,” the publisher said in their announcement.
It was around this time that she and Will’s relationship was rocked by rumours of infidelity and separation. In 2020, Pinkett Smith admitted to having an affair with R&B singer August Alsina while married to Will.
The pair have also been honest about their near-divorce in 2015.
News of the memoir comes after Pinkett Smith and her husband were plunged into the spotlight after Will took to the Oscars stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock.

Soon after the shocking event, Pinkett Smith issued her own call for “healing” and used the next episode of her hit interview series Red Table Talk to discuss alopecia, the hair loss condition she struggles with.
The revelations about Pinkett Smith’s relationship with Shakur will also be a much-awaited read for fans.
For years there has been speculation that the longtime friends were romantic, though Pinkett Smith has denied them on many occasions.
The pair reportedly met in the mid-1980s and had a close friendship before the rapper went to prison in 1995.
They sadly had a falling out just prior to when Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting in 1996 and were never able to make amends.
